Nokia 6.1002 Archives the latest mid-ranger from HMD Global, arrives in the U.S. on May 6.
While it's just another Android with decent-but-not-overly-impressive-specs, Nokia 6.1 does stand out with its low price of $269 and a fancy, copper-accented design that makes it look pricier than it is.
SEE ALSO: If you're tired of oversized smartphones, try this teeny one on for sizeNokia 6.1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and comes with a 5.5-inch, full HD IPS display, a 16-megapixel camera on the back, an 8-megapixel selfie cam and a 3,000mAh battery. Nokia also highlights fast, USB-C charging, ZEISS optics on the camera and face recognition.
While the phone has a regularly shaped screen with large bezels on top and bottom, Nokia has done a good job with the aluminum design (at least judging from the press photos) and copper accents on the sides and on the back. It's not going to fool anyone into believing you have an iPhone, but it's probably for the best that Nokia didn't go down that route, anyways.
On the software side, Nokia 6.1 comes with Android Oreo, with Nokia promising regular security updates. There are no Nokia-specific UI overlays of any sort here: This is pure Android, so the experience will be similar as on other members of Google's Android One family, which includes Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco and Android One Moto X4.
In the U.S., Nokia 6.1 will be available in the black/copper color at Best Buy and Amazon.
