Over 20 women have Kamasutra A Tale of Love full movie xxx (1996)now publicly spoken out against Harvey Weinstein, detailing episodes of sexual harassment, assault and rape.
SEE ALSO: Harvey Weinstein has been fired from The Weinstein CompanyAfter these harrowing stories were reported by the New York Times, New Yorker and other outlets, the wife of the embattled Hollywood producer, Georgina Chapman, announced she was leaving him with a powerful letter.
That pushed Weinstein to react with a sombre, defeated statement to Page Six which strikes a very different tone from the one he gave when the allegations first came out.
"I am profoundly devastated. I have lost my wife and kids, whom I love more than anything else."
About his wife's decision, he said:
"I fully support her decision. I didn’t stand in Georgina’s way when we discussed a separation, I encouraged her to do what was in her heart. I know she has to do what is best for the children, for herself and her business, she employs 130 people. I don’t want her or my children to be hurt any more than they already have. I truly love Georgina, and I hope one day we can reconcile, although right now I don’t know if that could possibly happen.”
Weinstein still argues all the sexual encounters were consensual, but said:
“I apologize to everyone who has been hurt by my actions."
“I realize I need to work on myself and to change. I am in intense therapy and counseling. I don’t know if I’m going to Europe for rehab; I really don’t know where I am going.”
The producer added that he's now given up all his charity work:
“I have resigned from my work with Robin Hood, amfAR, the only thing I plan to continue with is the scholarships for women directors at USC, which I am committed to.”
Weinstein and Chapman, who got married in 2007, have two children together: India Pearl, aged 7, and Dashiell Max Robert, aged 4.
Chapman, 41, launched the Marchesa fashion label. She said in a statement to People:
“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time."
