Griffin appeared to have been trying a new way to free up Los Angeles Clippers teammate Chris Paul during a pre-season game Wednesday night, when he threw a shoe and nailed the Toronto Raptors' Cory Joseph square in the jaw. Check it out:

Unlike Random Task's assault on Powers, however, this appears to have been accidental.

The shoe had inadvertently fallen off another Clipper, Jamal Crawford, before Griffin tried to remove it from the court. Here's a longer look.
