Lady Gaga's next album will be named Joanne -- likely a tribute to her aunt who died in 1974. The title seems to imply that the forthcoming record will be deeply personal. Though they never met, Gaga feels a deep spiritual connection to her and has mentioned before she believes she could be Joanne's reincarnation ("Joanne" is also Gaga's middle name).
The record will drop Oct. 21.
Gaga announced the news on Zane Lowe's Beats1 radio show, Gaga says her fifth album will be finished in the next 48 hours, and it definitely won't be an exclusive when it finally arrives.

The album will have 11 songs, with about 14 on the deluxe version. "Joanne" is also the name of a song on the record. Other songs to look forward to include "Ayo," "John Wayne" featuring Josh Homme and "Sinner's Prayer" featuring Father John Misty. Gaga also announced that she's been working with singer-songwriter Hillary Lindsey, who has worked with Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift.
Gaga released the lead single, "Perfect Illusion," last week. She collaborated with producer Bloodpop, Mark Ronson and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker on the single. Florence Welch is among the other collaborators Gaga has announced for Joanne.
Gaga has been sharing photos form the studio on her Instagram grid, one of her preferred news distribution methods, so watch out for the album cover, which she promises to deliver within the next couple hours.
