Hundreds of spectators cheered on Higgins -- who's from Flixton, Manchester -- as he reached for the ring, which he'd tied to a cord around his wrist.
Higgins was raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the charity tweeted a video of the proposal, adding they were "so happy she said yes."
"Jon has come through months of tough training for the 26.2 mile race to beat cystic fibrosis for his daughter Eva, aged 9 who lives with the devastating life-long condition," read a statement from the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The charity added that the couple's family and friends were in the crowd when Higgins proposed, and some were moved to tears.
Congrats to the happy couple!
