Per WWD, to compliment its latest line of "signature burgers" in the UK, the fast food chain commissioned a glitzy signature burger box from British fashion designer Julien Macdonald.

Macdonald didn't hold back, and the result is something fit for a queen.

"I drew inspiration from my fashion creations and iconic embellished red-carpet dresses," the designer told WWD. "This was translated into a gold, baroque, crystal-encrusted box, which is the perfect packaging for the luxury McDonald’s collection."

McDonald's auctioned off one of the boxes -- this one hand-embellished by Macdonald himself -- on Wednesday at a UK charitable event, with proceeds benefitting the Ronald McDonald House.

According to the McDonald's website, there are 1,000 designer boxes out there, ready to go home with customers lucky enough to win a ticket to one of several regional events across the UK, starting August 29.
