Oh,I Want To Be The First Guy Spicey. You will be missed.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer filed his resignation on Friday after President Donald Trump hired Anthony Scaramucci as his communications director. It's been a great run but, sadly, Spicer will be leaving the White House in August.
By now, we've all chosen our favorite WTF Spicer moments. On Friday evening, however, The Wall Street Journalreleased one last feel-good Spicey anecdote -- the icing on the cake of his short White House career.
SEE ALSO: An exit interview with Sean SpicerAccording to the Journal, Spicer wanted his own mini-fridge at the White House. You know, for his snacks.
He wanted it, but not bad enough to go buy his own on his $179,700 annual salary. Nope. Instead, he tried to take it from his subordinates. When they wouldn't give it up, he stole it in the cover of darkness.
Here's the excerpt from the Journal.
Less than a month into his new job, White House press secretary Sean Spicer needed to keep his food and drink cold. He wanted a mini-fridge.
He dispatched a top aide to a nearby executive office building where junior research employees are crammed into a room, surviving on Lean Cuisine frozen lunches. Mr. Spicer wants your icebox, the aide said, according to people familiar with the incident. They refused to give it up.
So Mr. Spicer waited until sundown—after his young staffers had left—to take matters into his own hands. He was spotted by a fellow White House official lugging the icebox down the White House driveway after 8 p.m.
You can get a mini-fridge on Amazon for less than $100. Again, Spicer made $179,000 a year. Instead of buying his own, he reportedly stole one from junior employees.
What a jerk.
