The Watch Honest Thief Onlinefolks at LG have come up with a unique solution to all of your messy cable management problems.
Meet the LG M3: It's a new 97-inch (!!!) OLED TV that has a pretty unique port situation, in that it has none. It’s just a huge, beefy screen that sits flush with your living room wall or on a stand with nothing plugged into it.
SEE ALSO: CES 2023: LG expands its superslim laptop line with some swanky 2-in-1sHow, then, do you stream content, or play video games, or do anything else that requires an HDMI port? With a wireless receiver box in the same room, of course! LG is calling this technology “Zero Connect” and the company said the box can deliver up to 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate wirelessly. Ideally, that would mean you could plug everything in on the other side of the room and never think about it again as you look proudly upon your pristine, wire-free entertainment setup.
Of course, latency is going to be a massiveconcern with the M3 if and when it ever comes to market. LG says it has developed algorithms that will allow the receiver box to always identify the cleanest wireless pathway to the TV, even if people or animals are moving around in the room. You can also manually move the box’s antenna if need be.
LG didn’t provide any price or release information for the M3, suggesting that it’s probably quite a ways off if it comes out at all. If (and this is a big if) it actually works, it could be a game-changer for people like me who hate dealing with wires. Here’s to hoping they make versions that are at least a littlebit smaller.
