Dysons are already on the expensive end for vacuums, and tariffs could cause Dyson price tags to spike any time now. Whichever of these two Dysons is best for you simply depends on how intense your cleaning needs are at home — or, rather, how intense youare about cleaning.

The V8 is on the lower end of Dyson's suction spectrum, dishing out slightly more oomph than the V7 for up to 40 minutes on one charge. It'll totally suffice for single-person homes or other smaller spaces with light foot traffic.

The V15 Detect brings home Dyson's iconic green laser that highlights dust, hair, and tiny crumbs that don't always show up to the naked eye (but definitely show up on the bottom of your feet). I fell in love with the laser when I first got the Dyson V12 Detect Slim a few years ago, and it has literally changed my life as a cat mother of two. The laser is so good at pointing out dusty spots on hard floors that I actually use it to test the suction performance of all of the robot vacuums I test at home. And, compared to the V12 that I use, the V15 on sale at Walmart actually has stronger suction and a larger dust bin. Depending on the mode you select on the LCD screen, the V15 Detect can clean for up to an hour on one charge.
