What does Bill Murray do Roman Perez Jr. Archiveswhen his son's college basketball team scores a massive March Madness upset?
He ruffles a friend's hair with infectious joy, apparently. Meanwhile, the privilege of seeing Bill Murray in the stands is turning the rest of us into Xavier Musketeers fans as well.

Now the 11-seed Musketeers play Saturday for a berth in the Final Four. After the buzzer sounded on Xavier's 73-71 win, everyone's favorite actor could be seen in the stand reveling in the moment.

At this point you may be wondering: "What's Bill Murray doing looking so invested in a fairly random March Madness game? Did he have money on it?"
No, this isn't a gambling thing. As we covered in more depth here, Murray's son is a Musketeers assistant coach. (Or you could flip it and say: A Musketeers assistant coach is Bill Murray's son. So he's got that goin' for him. Which is nice. Anyway, we digress.)
But there's another narrative at play here, too -- one that wasn't lost on NBA star Dwyane Wade after Xavier's win on Thursday night.

Wade is correct. In November, Murray's Cubs won the World Series for the first time since 1908, and he was there to see it. This also came just days after he led the Wrigley Field crowd through a sloshy, epic rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."
Now it's March, and Murray's son's college basketball team is one win from its first Final Four.
That's not all, either. ForTheWinran down other ways Murray is winning in sports this year -- he also launched a line of golf clothes, saw the minor league baseball team he owns make the playoffs for the first time in years and got to hit the links with some pretty big names.
So can Murray's magical run continue? Xavier faces Gonzaga on Saturday with the Final Four on the line.
We know who we're rooting for. Because who doesn't want to see Bill Murray at the Final Four?
