Pieter Hanson,Watch My Sister's Idol Trainee Friends Online Large Adult Son of the woman who recently made him the reluctant poster boy of the #HimToo movement, is officially on Twitter, and he'd like to set a few things straight.
On Oct. 6, Hanson's mother shared a cheesy photo of her son in uniform explaining he "respects women" but avoids taking them on dates because of "the current climate of false sexual accusations by radical feminists with an axe to grind." Hmm...
The tweet, which included the hashtag #HimToo, quickly went viral and got the expert meme treatment. Hanson saw the memes, and while he thinks they were hilarious, also wants people to know he fully supports women.

In a few hours Hanson secured the very fitting handle "@Thatwasmymom," recreated the pose from the photo his mother shared, and personally addressed all the memes about him.
"That was my Mom. Sometimes the people we love do things that hurt us without realizing it. Let’s turn this around," Hanson tweeted. "I respect and #BelieveWomen. I never have and never will support #HimToo. I’m a proud Navy vet, Cat Dad and Ally. Also, Twitter, your meme game is on point."

Committed to spreading some positive vibes in wake of his mom's divisive tweet, Hanson also started a thread of cat photos and created the hashtag #negativeintopositives to explain that his brother is a survivor of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Twitter users were pleasantly stunned that something good came from the controversial #HimToo tweet, and profusely thanked Hanson for taking a stand, welcoming him to Twitter with lots of cat pics.

A huge shoutout to Hanson for reminding the world the internet is not ~always~ a black hole of despair.
