When news of the rapper's financial woes from 2013 surfaced this week from TMZ, fans quickly rallied together and encouraged others to stream his music enough times for Nelly to receive a sizable paycheck to help pay off all debt.

They calculated the number of streams based on the average Spotify payout (reportedly between $0.006 and $0.0084) and from there, fans knew exactly what to do.
The hashtag #SaveNelly began circulating as people played Nelly's music on loop, silent or otherwise.
