The Stranger Thingscrew gets another throwback Thursday revamp, this time with a Season 2 poster inspired by another gang of lovable misfits -- and one of the Netflix hit's biggest inspirations, obviously -- The Goonies.
SEE ALSO: Never Say Die to These 7 'Goonies' FactsThe Stranger Thingsposter positions our characters strategically; Eleven is Chunk (Is Millie Bobby Brown's "Monster" rap Eleven's truffle shuffle? And isn't Chunk more the Dustin character anyway? Too on-the-nose?), Hopper is Brand (checks out), Nancy is Andy (yep), and the demogorgon is Mama Fratelli (nice).
Mike, of course, is Mikey, because reasons. Our only gripe is that Stef should clearlybe Barb.
Wait -- Barb is dead for real?
"Join the adventure" is also an original Gooniestagline, though it appears on a different poster that would have made an equally compelling Stranger Things teaser.
On Friday, we got yet another trippy sci-fi tie-in, this time to Close Encounters of the Third Kind:
That's the second poster overtly referencing a Spielberg film (the first was Jaws) and it won't be the last if they finally put Eleven on a bicycle bound for the moon.
Stranger Thingsreturns Oct. 27.
