There's been quite the 'big deal' made over recent changes to the law over 'mooning' (a.k.a. showing your bum) and Too Naughty to Say No (1985) - Remasteredstreaking in Australia.
The state of Victoria has specifically cited the two activities in its amendment to the law on sexual offences, even though both actions have been illegal for quite some time.
SEE ALSO: Streaking is outlawed some parts of Australia, so here are 6 of the bestNevertheless it's inspired a protest event, posted on Facebook as Moon the Parliament House of Victoria (with signs), which is set to take place on Oct. 8.
"Following the recent banning of the royal moon in Victoria, we have decided to show our disgustment and devistation [sic] of this new law by showing the parliament house of Victoria big posters," the description reads.
It didn't take long for Victoria Police to catch wind of the event however, posting a friendly-ish reminder on Tuesday, ordering attendees cease their intention to show off their bottoms to the state's Parliament House.
"Hi this is Victoria Police. The only moon we want to see on Parliament House is the 8 day old moon in the October lunar cycle. We suggest keeping your pants on and shut this page down or potentially risk criminal charges," the post read.
The comment has now been removed from the page (presumably because of the hilarious/rude replies it received) but screenshots are forever, Victoria Police. Screenshots are forever.
The post came as a real bummer for those looking to go, with people posting their displeasure at the protest being broken up.
If anything, it's still proof that Australian police are the masters of social media.
